Expanding Primary School in Ruiru

2011 - In Ruiru we have started expanding the primary school of the children’s home. The students of the school are performing well in their exams. Many local parents want their children to be educated at our school; these parents pay school fees. In this expansion there will be a computer room, a library and much more.

Gladys at Chapman University

2010 - Gladys was one of our children. She was able to study for a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at the Chapman University in America. When she graduated she sent an email to the children's home with this picture, saying she wanted to now find a job in order to earn some money and return to Kenya. Her aim is to build a better future for Kenyans, as she was given a chance to build a better future for herself. It is thanks to everyone at Blessed Generation that she was given this chance.

Marvellous school results!

2009 - The children in class 8 of the Blessed Generation primary school all sat the national Kenyan exams. In Kenya this result determines which high school the student goes to. If the student scores well he or she will be called to a good high school; if the student receives low marks he or she will be called to a high school with lower performance. This result is very important for the future of a child. The maximum score can be 500 over all subjects; the number one student in Kenya received 438 marks; how did our students perform in Ruiru and Malindi?

  1. Vincent 377 marks
  2. Tonix 365 marks
  3. Collins 346 marks
  4. Stacy 341 marks
  5. Noel 340 marks
  6. Mercyline 324 marks
  7. Angelina 311 marks
  8. and so on...

Marvellous results! This year Blessed Generation shows their school is a mark on the map of schools in Kenya.

College results

Even after finishing high school children require further education or training to break the cycle of poverty. They need to go for either job training at a technical college or on to university for further study. Read more about our students...

New dormitories in Ruiru

The home in Ruiru was blessed in the year 2007 and we thank our sponsors for a new school bus and a car. The boys' dormitory has been renovated completely. This meant a complete repair of the building from floor to ceiling. New indoor toilets were also built so the boys now don't need to go out of the house at night for a short call and face the German Shepherd dogs! In the girls' dormitory inside toilets were also constructed as well as an outside toilet block and washrooms. Also the girls dormitory underwent renovation including replacing all the wooden bunk beds with metal bunk beds!!!
